Open the door and step through.....

The merchant and mills dress shirt in sendai-japanese-cotton

A new door is opening, it's just a matter of time before I take my first footsteps through,
Change is good.
Being brave is good.
Following your heart is good.
It's all good x

In which she reaches the end of the knitting of that jumper

This is that Jumper I've been busily knitting for the past year.

I'm terribly proud of it, even though in the back of my noggin there is the little voice that says "pride comes before a fall", on this occasion I feel it is worth the risk.
as this is the First jumper I have ever knitted.... the sleeves are even the same length and I can actually wear it.
The pattern is climb every mountain on ravelry by Heidi Karraier
Knitted with cascade 200 sport in Straw.

It has a few mishaps, but by and large it is not a bad job.

I have learnt so much, thank you youtube.

which leaves these restless hands with nothing to knit.
But do not fear the next pattern has been purchased.
And it won't be long, I'm sure, before I pick up the needles again.

a parcel arrived
from my favourite shop

and that frock is not going to stitch itself.

a happy weekend to you

hello, did I know you once upon a time?

Troubles have had my thoughts elsewhere, worrying too much about things that may never happen. Silly to let things bog me down, when I know better than anyone, with all life's twists and turns, that there usually is not a darn thing you can do about your own future, it just kinda happens.

I was going to give up writing here, I felt I had run out of things to say, but maybe it seems I have not yet reached the end of this blog space, as here I am tipp tapping away into the ether once again.  I was going to give up stitching, as I didn't feel I had any time, or any inclination, but as with most things time has found me again, and inclination, well, I have ideas racing around up there that haven't been in this poor old noggin for so long, .  So call it a miracle, call it what you will ....
hello, did I know you once upon a time?

My camera has sat idle for many months, my trusted companion is covered in a layer of dust.

This is the last photo I took on my camera before the dust settled

Its sad, as the butterfly is dead, but I like it all the same. It has a certain beauty.

chapter one

begin again.

So first things first, I have labels, these arrived some time ago but I had no idea why I ordered them at the time.  But now I realise that it is most important that I have these labels and to begin again making the things I love to make and the things that make me happy.

This being items of clothing  that are useful and beautiful.  I am a very practical soul and so this will be reflected in the things that I make from now on.  And I shall call my new homemade wardrobe 'nest' .

chapter 2

whats the hurry?

I am learning to slow down I think, Its no good rushing, even if it takes me a year to finish a thing then that thing is still worth making.  I am possibly the slowest knitter on this earth, but no one said you had to knit quick,
did they?

So that Jumper that was started many moons ago is still not finished.  Mostly due to the fact that I have run out of yarn to finish the sleeves and have been rubbish at not re ordering more.  So Today it has been ordered, one ball of cascade 220 in straw
to finish that jumper.

I'm thinking a frock?

need to find some cloth to stitch it in.....

chapter three

that frock?

I hope that while I have been away you have had somne happy times and not too many sad ones
